WORKING WITH CULTURAL DIFFERENCE eLearn is a training course intended for individuals, companies and teams. 

This course helps people to better understand, effectively work, and efficiently communicate with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in a number of contexts and settings.

ABORIGINAL HISTORY eLearn is a training course intended for individuals, companies and teams working in Australia. This course helps people to better understand the history of Aboriginal People in Australia, the impacts of that history, issues still faced today and the important continuing contribution Aboriginal People present in shaping our National Identity.

 

Objectives

  • Understand why cross cultural training is important to working effectively across cultures,
  • Distinguish between Surface Culture and Deep Culture,
  • Learn important differences between communication styles, and rules of sensitive communication,
  • Recognise some of the invisible rules that exist within Cultures,
  • Appreciate the differences between Individualist and Collectivist Cultures.
  • Identify challenges facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples in Australia,
  • Describe significant historical events,
  • Understand how Government policies have impacted on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples,
  • Recognise the gap that exists across health, education, housing and employment; and
  • Learn about the contribution of Aboriginal people to Australian society.

The use of Two-factor Authentication (2FA) to provide an extra layer of security to log into the learning portal.

The use of reCAPTCHA helps to protect registration pages from potential abuse by using an advanced risk analysis engine and adaptive challenges to keep automated software from engaging in abuse activities on the portal.

Data Encryption

When personal information is captured on our website we use encryption to protect your information. You can check the security level of a web page by clicking on your internet browser's padlock or key icon.

How To Protect Your Security Online

As online presence is increasing, it's important you know how to protect yourself against cyber threats and manage your account security. Below are some useful techniques to protect yourself online.

  • Ensure you have the most up-to-date software installed on your mobile and electronic devices as well as your personal computers. For more information on how to update an iOS or Android Device, please refer to Resources.
  • Use Two-factor Authentication (2FA) to provide an extra layer of security to log into the learning portal.
  • Set strong passwords and change them regularly. Use a combination of numbers and characters, including uppercase and lowercase in your password to make it more secure.
  • Keep yourself informed about the latest cyber security risks.

Avoid becoming a victim of scams and cyber crimes by:

  • Not downloading and installing unknown apps or software to your mobile device or computer at the request of an unsolicited caller. 
  • Stop and think before you click on links or attachments in emails. Spam emails often look legitimate but they can be used to carry viruses and other malicious software. If unsure contact us directly.
  • Never disclose your personal, account and password information via SMS, email or web links. Please contact us by phone to assist.
  • Check your account transactions regularly and report any suspicious or unauthorised transactions to us or your bank promptly.
  • Handle unsolicited calls with care. If you're unsure about the legitimacy of the call, hang up and call back on our official phone number.

If you think your learning portal password has been compromised, contact us immediately.

Cross Cultural Consultants is committed to safeguarding your privacy online.

Cross Cultural Consultants has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for Cross Cultural Consultants.

Cross Cultural Consultants does not collect personally identifiable information about individuals except when such individuals specifically provide such information on a voluntary basis. For example, such personally identifiable information may be gathered from the registration process for a subscription or service and in connection with learning, community postings (e.g., online forums), and transactional processes.

Personally identifiable information on individual users will not be sold or otherwise transferred to unaffiliated third parties without the approval of the user. 

Further, notwithstanding any opt out by the user, we reserve the right to contact a user regarding account status, changes to the agreements and other matters relevant to the underlying service and/or the information collected. Upon request, we allow any user to "opt out" of further contacts at any time.

Additionally upon request, we will use reasonable efforts to allow users to update/correct personal information previously submitted which the user states is erroneous to the extent such activities will not compromise privacy or security interests. Also, upon a user's request, we will use commercially reasonable efforts to functionally delete the user and his or her personal information from our database; however, it may be impossible to delete a user's entry without some residual information because of backups and records required to be retained.

Access to the database containing personal information is restricted to Cross Cultural Consultants staff members with direct responsibility for customer service or management of the site. Authorised staff members are not allowed to pass on information about clients to non-authorised staff without the express permission of the Managing Director.

Cross Cultural Consultants reserves the right to change this policy at any time by notifying users of the existence of a new privacy statement. This statement and the policies outlined herein are not intended to and do not create any contractual or other legal rights in or on behalf of any party.

Refund/Exchange Policy

  • Training course registrations will not be confirmed until registration is complete and billing information is received in full.
  • In order to cancel or reschedule a confirmed training please submit an email request to training@cccnt.com.au.
  • Please submit all cancellation requests no later than 10 working days prior to the scheduled course date in order to receive a full refund of paid registration fees.
  • No shows and cancellations not made within the specified cancellation period will incur the full cost of registration.
  • Incomplete or unused online training/courses and licences are non-refundable.
  • Cross Cultural Consultants reserves the right to cancel any training course due to insufficient enrolment in advance of the scheduled course date. Notice will be provided with the option to reschedule for a future course date or to receive a full refund of registration fees.
  • Cross Cultural Consultants is not responsible for any expenses incurred by the customer if a training course is cancelled.
  • If a training class is cancelled due to any unforeseen circumstances such as weather or natural disaster, the customer is entitled to reschedule for a future training course.
